Gary Moore Passes Away

Belfast blues legend Gary Moore was found dead in Spain yesterday, February 6th. Just wanted to note here that in addition to forming a blues band in his Dad's pub while barely a teenager, Moore played memorably with Thin Lizzy during the 1970s, and collaborated famously with Lynott on 'Black Rose' and 'Out in the Fields'; he also released 20 solo albums. As if that wasn't enough, he was an energetic and important member of the Dublin music scene in the mid to late sixties, playing and recording with Skid Row, and also with prog-folkers Dr Strangely Strange - that's his unbelievable guitar playing on their eponymous album. Moore also recorded with Granny's Intentions on their 'Honest Injun' LP, following the departure of Johnny Hockedy.
